Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked ministers and MPs not to interfere in the upcoming upazila election. Instead, she urged everyone to ensure the elections are fair. She warned that those who don’t follow this instruction will face consequences.
At a meeting of the Awami League Parliamentary Party, she emphasized supporting the administration for credible polls.
Sheikh Hasina stressed that actions will be taken against anyone going against the party’s decision. She also highlighted the importance of giving space and respect to party members.
Sheikh Hasina mentioned that it’s not right for only relatives of lawmakers to participate in the elections, urging for equal opportunities.
She emphasized making the Awami League family larger. Reflecting on past elections, she praised the fairness of the 12th parliamentary elections and expressed a desire for the same in the upazila polls.
She mentioned her intention to discuss with independent lawmakers and other political parties, urging everyone not to cause trouble for them.
