Bangladesh condemns israeli aggression in Gaza

The government of Bangladesh has strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza, which have resulted in mass casualties and serious human rights violations. Since last month’s breach of the ceasefire, Israel’s attacks have killed numerous Palestinians, particularly women and children, while also obstructing the entry of crucial humanitarian aid, exacerbating the crisis in Gaza.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over Israel’s disregard for repeated international calls for restraint, noting the intensity of its attacks on Palestinian civilians. “Israel’s actions reflect an increasing disregard for international appeals and a violent escalation against the defenseless population,” the statement read.

The Bangladesh government condemned the indiscriminate aerial bombardment of densely populated civilian areas in Gaza, accusing Israel of attempting to carry out ethnic cleansing. Bangladesh called for an immediate cessation of military operations, urging Israel to show restraint and comply with international humanitarian law.

Additionally, Bangladesh appealed to the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take immediate and effective action to implement an unconditional ceasefire, halt hostilities, and ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Ministry reiterated Bangladesh’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The government also stressed the importance of resuming negotiations for a lasting peace in the Middle East, vital for regional and global stability. Bangladesh called on all parties to commit to diplomacy and dialogue to end the violence and suffering faced by Palestinians.

Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to the global pursuit of a two-state solution, in accordance with international law, United Nations resolutions, and the aspirations of the Palestinian people for peace, dignity, and justice.
