Amir Khosru pays tribute to Ishaque Chowdhury on 3rd death anniversary

BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has praised the late Ishaque Chowdhury as a dedicated, workers-friendly leader who made significant contributions to the pro-democracy and anti-fascist movements over the past 15 years.

Speaking at a memorial meeting on the occasion of Ishaque Chowdhury’s 3rd death anniversary, Amir Khosru described him as a leader who played a key role in strengthening the party and encouraging public participation in its activities. “He always responded positively to solve workers’ problems and raised his voice to alleviate the suffering of ordinary people,” Khosru said.

The meeting, held at the Char Chaktai School field, was chaired by Ward BNP leader Yakub Chowdhury Nazim. Amir Khosru recounted how Ishaque Chowdhury endured severe torture during the oppressive rule of the Awami League for his active involvement in democratic movements and party activities. Despite the physical and mental abuse, he never wavered in his commitment to the cause of freeing Begum Khaleda Zia.

“His resolve never faltered despite the many challenges he faced over the past 15 years,” Amir Khosru said.

The meeting was also attended by several BNP leaders, including former city BNP general secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar, central BNP leader Shamsul Alam, city unit joint convenor Yeasin Chowdhury Liton, former ward commissioner Yeasin Chowdhury Ashu, Professor Nurul Alam Raju, Kamrul Islam, and Haji Nurul Akte, among others.
