Singer Noble arrested on rape and abduction charges

Singer Mainul Ahsan Noble was arrested early today from the Sarulia area of Dhaka’s Demra in connection with a rape and abduction case.
Demra Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Murad Hossain confirmed the arrest, stating that a police team detained Noble around 2:00am following a complaint filed by a female student of Eden Mohila College.
According to Mahmudur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Demra Police Station, the woman alleged in her case statement that Noble had abducted and raped her.
The victim has since been taken to a hospital in Dhaka for medical examination. Further investigations are underway.
