Ramadan will begin in Bangladesh on Sunday, following the sighting of the crescent moon on Saturday, signaling the start of the holy month of 1446 Hijri. The announcement was made after a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee, held at the Islamic Foundation’s conference room in Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka, chaired by Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain.
As per the committee’s decision, Shab-e-Qadr (Lailatul Qadr), the night that marks the revelation of the first verses of the Quran to Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed on the night of March 27.
Throughout Ramadan, Muslims will fast from dawn to dusk, embracing a period of spiritual reflection, self-restraint, and austerity.
In his message for the holy month, Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus extended his warm greetings to the people of Bangladesh and Muslims worldwide.
