Malaysia has agreed in principle to recruit a large number of Bangladeshi workers in the near future, Local Government and Rural Development Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan announced.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Asif stated, “Malaysia has agreed to take a significant number of workers from Bangladesh and has assured us of fair wages, security, and overall welfare for them.”
The announcement follows a recent meeting in Putrajaya between Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul and senior officials from Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources.
Key outcomes of the discussion included a commitment to improve conditions for current Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia and the development of a transparent and balanced recruitment framework for new workers.
Asif, who also serves as the Youth and Sports Adviser, emphasized the government’s continued efforts to expand overseas employment opportunities while ensuring the rights and dignity of Bangladeshi workers abroad.
