‘Exhuma’, the horror occult movie starring Choi Min Shik, Kim Go Eun, Lee Do Hyun, Yoo Hae Jin, and Jeon Jin Ki, has shattered numerous records since its debut on 22 February.
This unconventional film, centered on occult practices, has captivated audiences with its distinct storyline and stellar ensemble cast. Notably, it received an invitation to the esteemed Berlin International Film Festival 2024.
On 14 April, reports surfaced that ‘Exhuma’ had surpassed the viewer count of ‘Train to Busan’, a former blockbuster starring Gong Yoo, with over 11.5 million moviegoers. While ‘Train to Busan’ held the previous record at 11,567,816 viewers, ‘Exhuma’ has now reached 11,569,310 viewers.
Achieving this milestone within a short timeframe since its February release, ‘Exhuma’ has dominated the box office, even surpassing the total admissions and gross earnings of ‘Parasite’, a globally acclaimed film that won multiple awards.
The film is slated for a global release, with Indian theaters scheduled to premiere it on May 3rd. However, there’s no confirmed date yet for its availability on OTT platforms.
